IMET: Brazil
The following description of the IMET program for Brazil comes from the U.S. State Department's April 2002 FY2003 Congressional Budget Justification for Foreign Operations:1

The International Military Education and Training (IMET) program allows the United States to share its long experience of civilian control of the military and promotes Brazil’s ability to serve in international peacekeeping missions as well as the interoperability of U.S. and Brazilian forces.
