IMET Courses:
Nonjudicial Punishment and Administrative Matters (No. P309059, 1 week) |
Scope1Details the rules, regulations and procedures used by commanders for handling disciplinary infractions within their unit without reporting to a court-martial. The first area covered is nonjudicial punishment (NJP). Using the U.S. model, students will cover the basics of report writing, accumulating evidence (including the taking of statements), protecting the rights of the military members accused and hearing procedures. The students will actually conduct mock NJP proceedings at the end of the instruction. The second portion of the course will introduce the students to the administrative measures available to the commander for dealing with service members who have demonstrated themselves to be unsuitable for military service. Using the U.S. model, students will be presented with the procedures the government uses when it attempts to have a member administratively discharged from the military.
