Expanded IMET Courses:
Continuing Education with the International Training Detachment
(No. P309061, Various Lengths)

Location

In the field, carried out by The Naval Postgraduate School's Center for Civil-Military Relations, Monterey, CA.

Scope1

After completion of the above initial three phases of the Executive Program on International Military Justice Systems and Human Rights, a country may elect to have any amount of additional follow-on training. This follow-up training can either repeat previous material (without repeating Phases I and II) or be based on any military law related area. Given adequate background information, the International Training Detachment
team can develop curriculum on any topic. Being a "purple" organization, the International Training Detachment is able to tap into the extensive resources of all branches of the military in order to address the issues confronting a client country and does not rely on standardized "off-the-shelf' action modules. Examples of follow-on training include: preparation of host country trainers to teach human fights (substantive human fights material); instruction in International Training Detachment teaching methodology for host country human rights instructors; and one-week training courses on military contract law, environmental law, regulation drafting and legislative liaison, drafting of military codes, and government ethics.
