CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL POLICY, GLOBAL FINANCIAL INTEGRITY
LEGAL COUNSEL and DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS POSITION

Legal Counsel and Director of Government Affairs

Global Financial Integrity (GFI), a Washington, DC-based think tank and advocacy group, promotes national and multilateral policies, safeguards, and agreements aimed at curtailing the cross-border flow of illicit money and enhancing integrity in the global financial system, thereby contributing to economic development and security.

We seek an experienced lawyer and government affairs professional who will have a major role in leading and defending GFI’s program to Congress and international institutions. Responsibilities include keeping abreast of U.S. and foreign legislative developments in anti-money laundering, corruption, and tax law; developing and maintaining a network of staff contacts on key Congressional committees; cultivating contacts in international financial institutions in Washington and abroad; monitoring and notifying senior staff of upcoming hearings, briefings, and mark-up sessions; preparing advocacy materials; and coordinating briefings for legislative and administration officials.

Requirements include a law degree and at least three years of legislative or issue-advocacy experience; exceptional written and oral communication skills; an ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively; excellent organizational skills; and an ability to work independently. A resourceful nature and positive attitude will be important attributes.

GFI offers a salary commensurate with experience and a great benefits package. We are based in the Du Pont Circle think-tank community in Washington, with organizations affiliated to and cooperating with us worldwide.

Qualified candidates may submit a cover letter and detailed resume to jobs@gfip.org. Put “Counsel/Government Affairs” in the subject line.

No phone calls please.
