Speech
by Rep. Judy Biggert (R-Illinois), July 23, 2003
Mrs. BIGGERT.
Mr. Chairman, I move to strike the requisite number of words.
Mr. Chairman,
I would like to be recorded as opposed to this amendment. I served on
the Committee on Government Reform in my first term here and then have
served on the Speaker's drug task force. I have been to Colombia, and
I have met the new President of Colombia, who has been here several
times. I think it would be a real mistake to cut down on our funds to
Colombia when things are moving ahead and have progressed so much in
the last 5 years.
I yield
to the gentleman from Florida, whom I did travel to Colombia with.
