Despite World Tensions, Meetings Season is Here

October 1, 2001

Autumn is here, and with it comes the start of the busy convention and conference season in South Florida.

A host of international business events are planned this fall in such diverse industries as construction, pay TV and the wireless Internet. It's still unclear what impact the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States could have on the events, so contact organizers.

Here's a partial list of what's in store:

As many as 600 companies from 70-plus nations are expected at the IV Americas Food and Beverage Trade Show and Conference to be held Nov. 28 and 29 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Featured will be regional beers from the Czech Republic and Mexico; wines from Chile, Argentina and Italy; ginseng products from Korea; plus sauces and seasonings from Guyana, said organizers at the World Trade Center-Miami.
