Guatemala, Jan 30 (Prensa Latina) An official Guatemalan delegation is preparing to travel to Havana Wednesday to learn about the Cuban health system and increase cooperation in sports, culture and other spheres.

The group, which will remain in Cuba from January 31 to February 3, is composed of the Republic's Vice President Rafael Espada, a cardiologist, as well as ministers and deputy ministers from several sectors.

"Cuba's experience will be useful to improve our country's health system," Espada told Prensa Latina.
The Guatemalan government plans to create a medical school in a rural area under Cuban auspices and sponsored by the state San Carlos University.

Culture and Sports Minister Jeronimo Lancerio stated they hope to increase cooperation given by the island's coaches and technicians in several sports disciplines.

The delegation's agenda includes visiting the historic quarter of Havana City and analyzing with authorities the possibility of restoring the Captain Generals Palace in historic Guatemala that is on point of collapse.

Besides visiting the almost 900 students from this country studying at the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana, the delegation is expected to be welcomed by Vice President Carlos Lage, Health Minister Jose Ramon Balaguer and other officials of the island's government.
