Internships



We are currently accepting applications for winter/spring 2006 internships. All positions for fall 2005 have been filled. The deadline for winter/spring 2006 applicants is October 19th.

National Security Internship Description
(often combined with Fundraising/Development internship; applicants should express interest in both)

This internship allows the intern to gain an understanding of the complex issues of national security focusing on intelligence reform and US military involvement in Iraq.

Duties:
- updating and adding creatively to the program web site
- updating the press list
- tracking congressional legislation that pertains to national security
- monitoring the news
- keeping track of CIP's off-site senior fellows and their projects
- developing ideas for fundraising and PR

Requirements:
- basic knowledge of national security issues
- strong organizational and communication skills
- attention to detail
- experience in creating and maintaining web pages (Dreamweaver)
- working knowledge of current legislation concerning Iraq and national security issues in the Middle East

Candidates are encouraged to apply as early as possible, and no later than the following deadlines:
Spring Term (mid-January through May): October 28
Summer Term (late May through August): March 19
Fall Term (September through mid-December): July 19th
