Iraq
War
The role of the press in the
war in Iraq (Nov. 24): When
the Downing Street Memos surfaced earlier this year,
most of the mainstream media shrugged off the suggestion
that how or why we went to war in Iraq was worth discussing.
That's old news, they told us. George W. Bush doesn't
think so, delivering a scathing speech on Veteran's
Day attacking his critics and making some familiar
charges about what everyone knew about Iraq's WMDs.
So how's the press doing this time around?
Mel Goodman answers this question
and more about pre-war intelligence leading up to
the war in Iraq. [Listen]
